Last week I was diagnosed with a fairly rare blood disorder. In a procedure yesterday (that is a routine and simple action for my situation), my blood pressure dropped to 50/30 and it caused quite a commotion. Blood sugar dropped. Pulse dropped. Oxygen dropped. 😬 Then came the shot of epinephrine and the IV. I had 4 nurses and a doctor all scrambling LOL I’m totally fine now. I still bounce back pretty good 😊 and even did my 3 mile speed walk this morning. But yesterday was not fun. I went night-night for a hot minute 🫣
The care I received was so compassionate and something I will always remember!! ❤️ The nurses really were SO kind to me. I just want to hug all of them. So, I stopped by a new donut shop this morning and purchased a dozen to take to the nurses, doctor and staff that took care of me!
Look at these things! They are beautiful. 🤩 Like pieces of art. I walked in and was overwhelmed. I told the lady to pick for me. There’s Bacon and Maple, Carmel Turtles, Strawberry Shortcake, Lemon Bar, Orange Dreamcicle. I can’t even remember them all. Almost forgot they are donuts. They are way bigger than my fist and about 2 inches thick! One of these might have gotten my vitals back up. With one of these, who needs epinephrine? 😂
So glad you are ok, we have this saying up at work to guide us when nursing. Compassion does not just happen. Pity does, but compassion is not pity. It's not a feeling. Compassion is a viewpoint, a way of life, a perspective, a habit that becomes a discipline - and more than anything else, compassion is a choice we make that love is more important than comfort or convenience.
Oh welllll I am glad that you are feeling better!! Yes nurses are always so lovely!! 🥰 How good that you give them these bunch of sugar. I guess they need a lot of natrium to balance this to ORS 🤣🤣
When I see this “het water loopt me in de mond” so now you can find out what I mean 😅 Giving some Dutch lessons before you come 🤣
