This is why in science experiments come from careful calculations to formulate hypothesis and conclusions and then experiment to confirm their suspicions. In this case they have nothing to suggest it would work, everything suggesting it wouldn't work, and a bunch of wasted resources.

Basically no scientist would even have humored the thought of that experiment because of how laughable it is. Decentralization, by centralizing is an oxymoron. It would never even be professionally funded in the real world.
