We should have embraced Russia into the fold back in 1988. They wanted to join the gang. We decided having them as an enemy would be more profitable. Reagan and Gorbachev signed comprehensive bilateral nuclear treaties. Every other President since has been playing God with the lives of every organism on Earth. The prospect of Nuclear Armageddon has increased every year. I for one would rather have peace and fewer nukes going into an uncertain future dominated by AI.
