This post and the comments back and forth are well worth the read. It highlights one of the more obvious divides on our social protocol which is struggling to gain footing in a brutal space. Where does the burden lie on growing DAU? The users? Core? Devs? The apps?
It is a good debate because it shows that people on both sides care. Clearly the focus launch has not gone as planned. Neither have the last three years here. And some elephants in the room remain unaddressed, perhaps for good reason.
If the protocol's DAU is dependent on me getting more people here, then we are all in deep trouble. But the protocol did get my money. And I will invest in creators who come here or investments that I think have merit.
Man, I wish we had "virality". But it hasn't happened yet. There is no doubt that created unmet expectations. Hopefully a healthy debate as well as the deployment of resources can bend the curve in a positive direction. Thanks to all of those who contribute here and care.

It works best if YOU help by practicing your pitch and learning to articulate the advantages of DeSo and Focus.
We raised the initial liquidity, built all the platforms, are continuing to iterate (streamlining onboarding, adding on-ramps, fixing trading), and put all the incentives together.
Instead of taking 30 minutes writing posts about what we can do better, I really think spending those 30 minutes to articulate your reasoning about why DeSo, Focus or Openfund are great platforms would go a LONG way.
Especially if you already hold $DESO and want to see it grow, this should be more than enough incentive alignment plus referrals.

I follow all of the activity on X, and haven’t seen really any strong efforts to help articulate anything. Mostly still just link-spamming.
The virality components work best if we work together… it was purposefully incentivized that way (eg 100% bonuses for reserving, unlimited referrals, 5% of fees forever).
