Lions hunt mainly in groups, using team play tactics. They can sneak up on prey using the terrain and vegetation. Most often, females hunt by targeting less fast animals such as antelopes or zebras. Lions often ambush, dividing into groups and attacking from different directions. After a successful attack, they use force to hold down the victim, striking with their paws and biting.
