Chapter 23: Secrets of the Orb

The chamber pulsed, each beat syncing with Ribbitz’s own heartbeat. The glowing orb floated silently above the pedestal, swirling between light and shadow like a storm trapped inside glass.

Gorr wiped sweat from his brow. “You sure about this, boss? Last thing that glowed nearly killed us.”

Ribbitz grinned through his gold cigar, adjusting his chain.

“Yeah. That’s why we’re touchin’ it.”

Without hesitation, Ribbitz stepped forward. The moment his fingers brushed the orb’s surface..

the world vanished.

No sound.

No light.

Just… falling.

Then, vision.

Flashes.

• An ancient city buried deep beneath Ribbitz Adventure Island…sprawling streets, glowing towers, and thousands of stone figures frozen mid battle.

• A colossal creature, chained beneath the Pyramid of Focus, its body writhing under layers of molten rock.

• A sword of light, hidden somewhere deep in the labyrinth, capable of either freeing or destroying the creature.

• A shadowy figure, unseen but very real, already moving toward the sword.

Ribbitz gasped, yanking his hand back.

The orb spun wildly, as if reacting to his mind.

Gorr rushed over, grabbing his shoulder. “What? What’d you see?”

Ribbitz caught his breath, laser shades flaring.

“We ain’t alone down here, homie. And somebody’s beatin’ us to somethin’ serious.”

The orb’s glow shifted again, this time forming a trail of faint symbols along the ground leading deeper into the labyrinth.

A path.

But danger wasn’t behind them anymore.

It was ahead.

And whatever was chained beneath the island…

was waking up.
