This is the historic town hall building in Schwyz.
It is a heritage-listed parliament and court building. It is known for the historicist façade painting by Ferdinand Wagner from 1891.

The house was built in 1590, burned down in 1642, then rebuilt, and renovated several times later.
Even nowadays you can see traces of that fire of 1642 on the huge pillars of the current cantonal council chamber.
