# CloutCast → Cast3

Hey DeSo - It’s been a minute since we’ve had a big win as a community, and CloutCast is looking to spice things up in a meaningful way.

From Day 1 of CloutCast we knew we had lighting in a bottle. Crowdsourcing web3 content promotion seamlessly along with crypto payments was an absolute hit. It unlocked net new content promotion methods that had never been experimented with by TradSo AdTech machinery because it paid *users* instead of their *platform* for the promotions.

We always wondered what CloutCast’s model would look like if we unleashed it against a platform like Twitter, and very soon, we’ll get our answer.

**Today CloutCast is announcing our DAO and the upcoming launch of [Cast3](https://www.cast3.xyz/)** (cast3.xyz) – Crowdsourcing Virality, where *anyone* can send *any* tweet viral.

From all of our product development and discovery over the past year, we’ve come up with two main focuses that we think can make a serious impact for crowdsourced virality on Twitter:

1. “**Cameo” for Twitter promotions:** Focusing on getting highly followed accounts within each niche twitter community to claim their Cast3 Profiles and set their price point and the kinds of content they’d promote is key.
    
    Building up this “supply” side of willing promoters attracts promotion “demand” just like we saw occur on CloutCast where Raj and Krass could get $50 for a RePost. This feature set alone has a real chance of taking Twitter by storm, and it’s super exciting to think of it’s potential.
    
2. **Community Sponsored Tweet Promotions:** Every single web3 discord server has a channel for their twitter feed, and encourages their community to promote and engage with their posts. What if any project could easily create and curate a whitelist of community members that can be paid to share their posts? Web3 (and any community) could stop pouring money into TradSo’s Advertising engines, and instead get to amplify their content by paying their own community to authentically and enthusiastically share it with their audience.
    
    DeSo Core Team as well as Octane backed teams (and all of you on DeSo) are amazing beta users for this feature, and we should be able to get a dozen web3 communities up and running for the beta as well - all paying out in $DeSo 🚀
    

From a product perspective we love that $DeSo is the common currency of Cast3, as it’s such an appropriate medium for the web3 community that still unfortunately relies on Twitter for their main communications and user acquisition. We think that this will be a great way to onboard wallets to the ecosystem in the near term, and grow DESO user adoption over time. In future iterations we’ll certainly consider allowing other major tokens and the means of promotion payout based on which communities we’re gaining the most traction with.

**Token Launch:** Our primary motivation to convert CloutCast into a DAO is so that the community can come along for the ride and help craft a product that has the potential to make a real impact in the web3 AdTech space. We’re reserving 50% of our tokens for community distribution to developers and contributors who would like to help build this future together, and our initial DAO owners will help us define what that distribution looks like. Our DAO launches on July 4th and is the only time we foresee allowing token purchases into the DAO. The launch will allow anyone to join in at the same terms as our initial Octane Fund deal structure:

- 987,500 Cast3 Tokens “Pre-Mined”
- 12,500 Cast3 Token Available for sale starting on July 4th (no cap on participation, so as many tokens as purchased will be generated until the round closes)
- Each Token available for $20 (2.5 $DeSo @ a $8 price), which equates to an initial market cap of $20M

**Distribution:**

-Cast3 Core Team will retain 25%

-DeSo Foundation will be transferred 1.25% of tokens, and will receive 1.25% of tokens upon contribution of remaining $250K Octane funds into the DAO

-X uncapped amount available in our initial DAO launch round beginning on July 4th

-50% of tokens will be retained for distribution to DAO Developers and DAO Contributors as determined by voting

-10% of tokens will be retained for utilization within Marketplace incentives to assist with platform adoption and building a base of super users

-12.5% of tokens will be retained in the Cast3 Treasury for future allocation by the DAO in initiatives such as:

- Influencer collaboration
- Advisors
- Strategic partnerships

**As for CloutCast** - there are still quite a few compelling features and product directions for web3 pure social even in our current bear market, and we’ll open this roadmap and work to the DAO members more and more over time.
