☕️ Lately it seems like a part of my loose weekend routine is that I get up and I go visit one of the cute local cafes downtown. Not ‘the’ Cute Cafe that’s next to the Bookshop, but one that’s equally just as cute and close by. So, this’s exactly what I did yesterday. I woke up, ran a few quick errands and headed to the cafe until the Bookshop opened for the day.

📚 Then, before my wreath making class, I stopped by the shop to finally exchange contact info with the owner and purchase a few gift cards for Christmas. I accidentally stayed for a whole hour because I was chatting with the owner and planning events for the shop with some customers, oopsie. 😆 I swear, I step foot into that old historic building and time just disappears completely.

🎄When my alarm went off, I hurried up and picked my mom up, and whisked her away to the Plant Shop’s fancy wreath making class.

🎉 It was an absolute blast, we had so much fun! Pictures are included. When I stopped to think about it, I don’t think I have ANY recent pictures of me next to my mom in a fun and casual setting like that, aw. So now I’m on a mission to collect more. 😇 More experiences, more pictures, more memories.

😅 My mom, who is a crafty person by nature is and very good at this kind of stuff, made a really cute and clean looking wreath. Mine, on the other hand, looks like a 7 year old slapped it together. It’s unruly, it’s huge, and it’s just obnoxious, but I had fun with it anyway. And it smells SO. GOOD!! 😍

🤦‍♀️ I sent Sharply Dressed Pizza Guy a note, and.. sigh. Ya’ll, I don’t know what to make of this man, aside to just chalk up that entire experience as an absolute shitshow. 😂

💋 The night we hung out together, we got a little drunk, oopsie! And when we got a little drunk, we got a little caught up in the fun moment and got a bit smoochy and handsy, whoops! We talked about it and we decided it’s water under the bridge, but things have stayed a little awkward, oops. 💀

💥 For example, a few nights ago, we heard an explosion that seriously lasted or 10+ minutes. It was SO. LOUD! I was a little spooked, so I texted him about it shortly after it happened. We honestly thought a bomb had gone off at first, but determined it was just one hell of a fireworks show.. in the middle of winter. That night, I sent him a quick text letting him know that I turned my Focus/Do Not Disturb status off for him, so if an emergency ever happens in the middle of the night, I can still get alerts from him.

🥴 Later that evening, at 1am, I get a text from him! I knew that this guy would only text me for something important at that hour, not just a stupid ass “You up?” dumb shit, so when I woke up at 2am to pee, I quick read the text.

👀 It was a reply to my earlier text, saying something like, “Okay, sounds good, hey I’m home from my work’s Christmas party and I’m a little drunk, haha!” 🤣😂 Great to see these alerts are off to a good start, ha! I replied back, but it was just a polite “I’m glad you made it home safe, thanks for helping make me feel safe, have a good night!” 😆

😳 Anyway. To continue the awkwardness, today I sent him a quick text that said something like “Hi there, I hope your week is off to a good start. I really just wanted to be that cool and elusive girl across the hall that you could occasionally chill out with, but instead I’m that weird bitch who is asking you to keep an eye on that obnoxious wreath I made. I don’t think anyone will steal it, but what if someone thinks it’s ugly/smells and tries to toss it? So I’d appreciate you saying something if you see anything. Thanks for putting up with my weirdness, bye!” 😂

🤷‍♀️ I’ve forgotten how awkward it is, trying to meet completely new people, sigh.
