🤪 Okay, ya’ll! Looks like we’re on the watch for a fourth egg, after all!!
🤔 This morning it seemed like Mom was sitting sort of weird- she was a little more spread out than usual, and it just made me think, “Hmm.. she’s sitting on these eggs weird.. Something is up..”
🤦♀️ Then, she flew the coop and she’s been gone for TWO hours and counting!! New Dad hasn’t swooped in, so there’s only one explanation for the weirdness and temporarily “abandonment”: DELAYED INCUBATION…
😩 Agh!! Delayed incubation means they’re purposely shifting around the incubating schedule so that all of them can “cook” evenly.. Meaning.. she’s waiting to lay one more egg so they’re all on a similar growing schedule!!!
👀 She could just be “evening out” these existing three, since there’s a week long laying gap between the older and newest.. but the way she was a sitting, and the fact that the eggs have been in the open for 2+ hours and counting.. really makes me think she’s slowing things down for one last addition.
🤷♀️ We shall see!!! I’ll keep an eye on things today and keep everyone posted about a fourth egg within the next day or two. 🤞🏼
