The purpose of note-taking is not to remember; but to forget.
If you organize your notes in a way where information can be retrieved instantaneously when you need it, you've effectively built a second brain and do not need to store that info in your primary brain anymore.

It's always good to get those ideas on paper
Like saving things to your hard drive instead of trying to keep it all in memory!
