# OUR STRATEGY 🗺️
 **Simply put, we are going to create the ultimate platform for trading usernames or die trying.** 

Right now **[NameTrade](https://nametrade.io)** is already the go-to for buying and selling usernames, but we can't stop there. We are working around the clock to develop an application that is so fine tuned, even an ape can buy or sell its username with just a few clicks. **[Deso](https://deso.org)** is the leading Layer-1 Blockchain for decentralizing social media, and that means when the world wakes up to that fact, each and every username on deso and daodao are going to be apart of a brand new, highly valued liquid asset class like the world has never before seen.

**Our strategy can be broken down into the following steps:**

1. Identify what our users need and make it happen by any means necessary.
2. Improve upon the foundational concept of trading web3 identities. 
**Think Ethereum Name Service on steroids.**
3. Keep shipping until we've perfected the art of username trade and world domination has been achieved, then expand to the moon, space, and beyond. (We think aliens want to trade usernames too)

# GETTING WORK DONE 💪

You are probably here because you want the DAO to do something. The primary mechanism by which the DAO gets things done is via "Requests for Proposal" (RFPs). An RFP is a request from the DAO for contributors to offer to do work on its behalf, and receive compensation in return.
Anyone who identifies a need can write an RFP, and if the RFP is passed, a proposal can be written in response and be awarded the work. Even if you believe you can do the work yourself, you will still need to pass an RFP in order to be awarded the work (and corresponding compensation) by the DAO.
RFPs vary in detail and complexity. An RFP for improving the DAO's documentation may only be a paragraph or two long, and proposals for it will be equally short. At the other extreme, an RFP for managing the DAO's funds may be lengthy, and a successful proposal could be multiple pages justifying the proposer's ability to take on the job.

As the **decentralized social** ecosystem grows, the potential for yield becomes incredibly promising. While we expect to partner with the community and decide on the most efficient and scalable revenue streams, our current proposals are as follows:

Revenue is generated through trading fees for username sales and related services.

The primary purpose of trading fees is to provide enough revenue to the DAO to fund ongoing development and improvement of **NameTrade**. Any income generated to the **NameTrade** treasury is to be used first of all to ensure the long-term viability of **NameTrade**, and to fund continuing development and improvement of the **NameTrade** system. We aim to take 10% of all username sales. This amount can fluctuate to best fit the needs of the community and the product itself. DAO members will be able to vote on the fee % and the distribution cycles, as well as propose ideas for new features and vote on the prioritization of new features and upcoming integrations with other platforms and applications.
