This is a „Grittibänz“. They are made around christmas time in Switzerland. It belongs to the Saint Nicholas tradition in the German-speaking countries. It is a pastry made of „Stuten“, sweet leavened dough.

The term „Stuten“ I‘ve never heard before, I took it from the wiki. Here in Switzerland, it is not called „Stutenkerl“, but „Grittibänz“. 😁
