@nader @mossified or anyone who knows, Am I right in my understanding of how the AMM works?

let's say there are 5000 tokens in the pre launch AMM

Price Levels & Available Tokens

• $1.00 → 1,000 tokens

• $0.90 → 1,000 tokens

• $0.80 → 1,000 tokens

• $0.70 → 1,000 tokens

• $0.60 → 1,000 tokens

Buyers & Their Orders

1. Bob wants 500 tokens at $1.00

2. Alice wants 1,200 tokens at $0.90

3. Charlie wants 1,500 tokens at $0.85

4. Susan wants 2,000 tokens at $0.75

5. Dave wants 3,500 tokens at $0.65

How the Orders Get Filled

Bob’s Order

• Bob wants 500 tokens at $1.00

• AMM fills all 500 tokens at $1.00

• 500 tokens remain in an AMM sell order post launch at $1.00

Alice’s Order

• Alice wants 1,200 tokens at $0.90

• AMM fills 1,000 tokens at $0.90

• 200 tokens remain unfilled and are taken from the next bracket ($0.80). The $0.10 difference will be used to either buy and burn focus, buy and burn launched token or pocketed by the coins creator (to be decided)

Alice’s Remaining Order Fills from $0.80

• 200 tokens are taken from the $0.80 price level, reducing available tokens there.

• Remaining at $0.80: 800 tokens

Charlie’s Order

• Charlie wants 1,500 tokens at $0.85, but this price level does not exist.

• Charlie’s order is filled from $0.80 (since there are 800 tokens left at $0.80).

• Charlie still needs 700 tokens, so the AMM fills the rest from $0.70.

• Remaining at $0.80: 0 tokens

• Remaining at $0.70: 300 tokens

Susan’s Order

• Susan wants 2,000 tokens at $0.75, but this price level does not exist.

• She takes the remaining 300 tokens at $0.70 and 1,000 tokens from the $0.60 bracket (since that’s all that’s left at $0.60).**

• Susan’s order is only partially filled (1,300 tokens).

• Remaining at $0.70: 0 tokens

• Remaining at $0.60: 0 tokens

• Susan still needs 700 more tokens, but there are no more tokens available at her price, so the rest of her order is left unfilled.

Dave’s Order

• Dave wants 3,500 tokens at $0.65, but no tokens remain in the AMM.

• Dave gets nothing.

This is a classic Tusk pattern if I've ever seen one.

Wake me up when $elontusk hits $4.20.

In retrospect, it will be inevitable

It's easy to be discouraged a bit by the performance of DESO and FOCUS so far. But tbh, this is a good situation. For the most part, no new money has entered the ecosystem YET. What we are seeing right now is FOCUS bag holders who have reserved their token for a year decide to dump and get liquidity for activities outside of DESO. Fair play.

We don't want new entrants to be exit liquidity for bag holders. Talk about a bad first impression. But the moment we get some catalysts, whether it be a fury of A-list celebrities launching their creator coins, or a brand launching their official brand coin, or simply a meme going viral, new money will bridge to DeSo, and the gateway to first get involved with anything on chain will always be to buy DESO. And thats when the DESO flywheel will kick into effect. More coins launching on Focus leads to more demand for the underlying asset pinning the entire ecosystem : DESO. Green dildo for DESO leads to a green dildo for FOCUS, and suddenly all focus incentives via bounties etc start looking juicier for new people to join and begin the virtuous cycle of referring others and beginning their Focus journey where suddenly there are incentives EVERYWHERE for them to stick around and grow with the community.

These things take time, and I am very confident that Focus will be one of the first ever crypto consumer application to cross the chasm and go viral amongst the web2 normies. We are early. My advice is to pull up a chair and get comfortable.
