Redesigned my website again, I felt like having everything black, while stylish, was unwelcoming and depressing for viewers. So I've designed a lighter theme that's more friendly. I've also Brought back my blog, I spent over a year creating content for it and it'd be a shame to let that go to waste.

π° Surveyor 3 launched
π Second US spacecraft to soft-land on the Moon
πΈ Returned close-up images of lunar surface
π° Conducted key analysis to support Apollo landings
π 1st craft to carry surface-soil scoop
On Monday, 17 April 1967, NASA launched Surveyor 3 - the third lander of the Surveyor Program and only the second US spacecraft to achieve a soft landing on the Moon.
It's landing was not straight-forward though: reflective rocks confused the lander's descent radar causing it's engines to cut-out prematurely - with the lander descending quicker than intended and bouncing twice on the surface before settling with a soft touch-down.
The spacecraft was designed to perform sampling of the surface and was fitted with a number of cameras to image the surface and samples taken. The cameras returned 6,326 pictures between 20 April and 3 May, when it was shutdown for lunar night - and after which could not be reactivated.
These images provided crucial information about the Moon's geology and topography and included views of the spacecraft, panoramic lunar surveys, the mechanical surface digger at work and of an eclipse of the Sun by the Earth on 24 April.
The craft dug four trenches and collected samples in view of it's cameras and based on experiments, provided evidence to conclude the lunar surface was solid enough to support the landing of a Lunar Module.
Notably Surveyor 3 became famous when chosen as the landing site for Apollo 12 - who successfully landed within walking distance and photographed the probe, retrieved samples, sensors and equipment - including the cameras which held further images than already returned.

Focus is key
GE (well, we have GM and GN, so Good Evening)
πββοΈ Checking in π
πͺ Alive and Kicking β½
π₯ Oh my word: "sh*t is coming" - Silent, but not still!
π 100% committed, sadly π£ 100% disappointed
β½ Big things coming, but I don't do premature launches
π Looking for #WeAreAllDeso volunteers - speak up
Mindful that despite being one of the most consistent active users for 1,472 days since π block 13,366 when I joined - way back on 7th April 2021... (with WELL-over 1 million transactions)...
...I've been awfully absent - and my apologies for this!! π
I don't want anyone thinking I've lost my commitment here - as that would be so far from the truth that you'd start believing in flat earth!
But - I must admit - I've fallen down that trap of being so heads-down buried, and so utterly disappointed at Focus, that I've simply not engaged like I did previously.
However, I'd like to reaffirm that I am 100% committed to DESO as a protocol.
Most of you (real users) know that I'm working on quite a substantial project under the guise of "@BeyondSocial", but, unlike some others, I'm not in the game of releasing a premature project - so let's say "good things come to those who wait".
"Silent, but not still"... I have 5-6 active projects, which will be launching when the time is right.
And... they're quite a mix.
I'm looking for a handful of volunteers - NOT technical people
(...I stress again for the people at the back "NOT technical people" - instead: real end-users) for testing these before launch and (ideally) folk that would be willing to:
- test each app and review:
- website copy, terms, FAQs
- press releases
- elevator pitches, and
- boilerplate social media posts
I'm really missing the everyday engagement I used to have with pretty much every actual user here (let's face it - there's around 50 of us in total) - it simply doesn't feel quite the same now that all of our engagement is on Telegram.
Anyway, please raise your hand and reply if you're willing to share a little of your time to help with the forthcoming launches and give your real, unbiased and honest feedback.
It's the real feedback that I'm after... and those of you already engaged in various beta programmes with me know that I will take it all onboard π

Released on #TDIMH , βDesperado" is a soft rock ballad by the American rock band the Eagles.
βThe track was written by Glenn Frey and Don Henley, and appeared on the band's second studio album Desperadoβ.
βAccording to Henley, "Desperado" was based on a song he started in 1968, written in the style of old songs by Stephen Foster.β

Rewards Sent
I've sent out the tokens for "Lock & Earn" contest just now. Feel free to lock it up to get the additional 25% before Staking Rewards gets lowered towards the end of this month. I am thinking 20-22% as of now.
For CCv1 holders who took part in the migration, I am extending the "Lock & Earn" offer until the end of the month. Anyone who upgrades to lock more gets the delta reward.
e.g. If @studio_richards locks another 13K in tokens or realistically even 11K since there's 25% APY, he should get 6K in FREE Tokens.
=== 30K Tokens Sent ===
@FedeDM - 393K @Moggel - 250K @Gatucu - 250K @Homey - 280K @Johan_Holmberg - 231K @Bhagyasri - 202K
=== 10K Tokens Sent === @Draftsman - 132K @Scottscoin - 125K @ThisDayInMusicHistory - 120K @stockler - 104K
=== 4K Tokens Sent === @Studio_richards - 87.5K @Eternalist - 70K @NFTLegacy - 62.5K @Arnoud - 55K
=== 500 Tokens Sent === @tobiasschmid - 12.5K (I think I sent it to your @paratect account by mistake).
==
The Lock% was over 75% of the Top 25 Token Holders' tokens locked up for 1 year. With the below rewards given out, it has come down to 70%.
Token Holders Announcement: Lock your Tokens Week
Anyone who locks tokens gets rewarded with extra tokens that they can do whatever they want with and this is in addition to the 25% Staking APY available at this time (to be lowered as activity picks up on Focus).
The more you lock, the more you win
- Lock 200K Tokens - Get 30K Tokens Free (15% additional)
- Lock 100K Tokens - Get 10K Tokens Free (10%)
- Lock 50K Tokens - Get 4K Tokens Free (8%)
- Lock 10K Tokens - Get 500 Tokens Free (5%)
For those looking to buy, make sure you are not overpaying. 100K Tokens should be around the 0.0005 price and should cost you 50$.
To avoid price escalating too much and also avoid users losing money on DESO/USDC pairs, I have placed orders there from the staking account. But, the best pair to use is still Focus unless there's a significant change in Focus Price (vs. DESO).
The first two HODLers to lock 200K Tokens are @Gatucu and @Johan_Holmberg - two of my long term holders and friends on DESO. And they too will get the rewards at the end of this campaign.
Offer Ends 10th April 2025 at Midnight IST (GMT+5.5).
