What a gift you've been given!
Ukraine is the least happy country in Europe, for obvious reasons.
Finland is the happiest.
Friends from Finland, share your secrets for happiness, please.
Friends, how did your country do?

the airport i went to has a fossil on the tile floor

Wait with patience.....
You time is coming.....

Can we stop disrespecting our early work?
I used to hide screenshots of my first design projects like they were bad report cards. One website had no spacing. The buttons looked like Skittles. The font? Comic Sans energy.
But here’s the twist: That same project landed me my first three paying clients.
Why? Because I showed up. Because I finished something. Because I wasn’t talking about being a designer—I was being one.
We spend so much time deleting our “early content.” editing old posts, burying our beginner work like a crime scene.
But honestly? That’s the part you should be proud of.
Those ugly flyers? They taught you alignment. That slow website? It taught you about optimization. That awkward client call? It taught you boundaries.
Early work is not your shame. It’s your foundation.
And if you’re still judging your skills based on where you started, pause. The fact that you even cringe now? That’s proof of growth.
Respect the beginning. Even if it was messy. Especially if it was messy.
Because no one gets to version 2.0 without version 0.5 that almost broke them.
You’re broke. Rent is due. Your M-PESA is flirting with zero. Then boom, someone replies to your Upwork proposal: “Hi. I love your work. Can you start today?”
You don’t even breathe. You say, “Yes!” Before asking about the scope. Before signing a contract. Before clarifying how and if they’ll pay.
That’s how some freelancers end up working 40 hours for someone who disappears like Nairobi landlords on the 1st of the month.
Desperation makes you skip steps. You’re not thinking straight. You’re thinking, “This is the break I’ve been waiting for.”
But sometimes? That “break” will break you.
I once took a gig for $150 that turned into a never-ending revision marathon with a client who thought "unlimited revisions" meant “harass me for 3 weeks”. Payment? Delayed. Then ghosted.
Lesson learned: I don’t work without a system. Even if I’m broke. Even if I need the job. Even if the client sounds “nice.”
What to check before you accept the job:
✔️ Do they have a contract or formal brief?
✔️ Have they paid freelancers before?
✔️Are they willing to send a 50% deposit or milestone?
✔️Is their communication respectful and consistent?
Your skills are your business. And no, you’re not being “difficult”; you’re being professional.
Desperation will get you underpaid, overworked, and emotionally exhausted.
Be hungry but stay smart.

Yesterday, Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed two expensive Russian Borisoglebsk-2 electronic warfare systems.
The main function of Borisoglebsk-2 is to detect and suppress various communication channels and other systems that use radio signals - C3 systems of a tactical level, including satellite systems, as well as suppression of radio navigation systems.
They were located near Novokamianka village, a temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region. This means that Ukrainian drone bombers conducted a raid across the Dnipro River.
Glory!
