I had a self realization about a year ago. The reason I started making music is because it brings me joy. Nothing on this earth makes me feel quite like how I do when I'm creating music. I realized I'm madly in love with the process, not the end result. I realized I have the most fun I've ever had in my entire life when I'm creating my art. Even if I'm all alone.
But when I started doing it for the wrong reasons, like for attention or "success"
I began to lose my passion for it...
I had to remind myself why I started this journey in the first place. I had to ask myself the God honest truth, if no one ever listened to my music, and if I never made another dime from it again would I still do it?
When I finally admitted to myself that the answer was yes, that's when I found myself again. I rediscovered my passion for it, and this time it wasn't rooted in anything other than the art itself and the pleasure I get from creating it. Of course it excites me when others people enjoy what I create, but sharing my art with other people is really just the cherry on top! True fulfillment comes from the freedom of expression and the feeling of accomplishment I get when I finally hit that button to finalize a track. At heart I'm my own biggest fan, but I'm also my own biggest critic and I've had to learn to balance that in a healthy way.
I guess what I'm saying is, whatever your passion is, whatever it is that you DO, do it for an audience of one. Only then will you truly be content with the things you create. If you think its dope, then IT IS dope! There's no need for any outside validation. As long as you're satisfied with your own product, that's all that really matters<3

@WhaleDShark dropping a banger country album was not on my 2025 bingo card 😂
Over the years, I’ve seen many potentially false accusations and mischaracterizations about the creator of this platform.
These posts were never removed, and the accounts behind them were never banned.
That alone speaks to the true censorship resistance and freedom this platform affords its users. Something I try not to take for granted.
When you consider how other social platforms are the exact polar opposite, the true litmus test of a decentralized protocol is the ability for its users to speak freely and engage in open criticism without fear of systematic retaliation from its core team.
There’s a few reasons I live here. Politics and taxes are not one of them.

The Age of Audio: You.mp3
Focus just introduced an innovative new feature: audio uploads. This update is revolutionary, not just for musicians but for the entire creator economy. On a platform that gives creators direct access to native monetization tools, audio uploads open up an entirely new world of possibilities. From exclusive music drops to authentic voice messages, this feature reimagines how we connect, share, and earn online.
A New Era for Musicians
For musicians, releasing new tracks has traditionally involved multiple layers of distribution services, record labels, and third party platforms. Focus cuts through that complexity. Artists can now:
- Release Exclusive Music Directly to Fans: Share unreleased songs, exclusive content, or promotional previews as gated content. Fans can unlock tracks with a one time payment, or subscribe on a continual basis, providing artists with flexibility and immediate revenue.
- Monetize Through Tips and Engagement: Rather than relying on streaming revenue (which lets face it, pays next to nothing), creators can receive direct support from fans through tips given right from the social feed. Cutting out the middleman and putting power back in the hands of users.
- Real Time Feedback: Direct audio uploads allows artists to share music in its raw form, gathering instant feedback from their community.
Imagine premiering your next single without waiting for DSP approval, directly to your social feed. Like THIS for example. I released this song exclusively on focus and within minutes I was already earning revenue! Artists like me can now cultivate exclusivity and garner support while keeping full ownership of our content.
Beyond Music: Audio Messaging and Authentic Connections
This isn’t just for musicians. The new audio upload feature unlocks powerful opportunities for all types of creators and users. Think voice memos, audio storytelling, or podcast snippets… the possibilities are endless.
- Personal Voice Updates: Skip the text and share thoughts, announcements, or stories through your voice. Authenticity resonates, and what’s more authentic than the sound of someone’s voice?
- Sound Bites and Discussions: Users can spark conversations by replying directly with their own audio clips as comments, fostering deeper engagement and nuanced discussions.
- Community Driven Discovery: Content thrives when it’s valued by the community. Audio uploads that resonate will organically reach a wider audience through reposts and organic engagement, further boosting creator revenue.
Paving the Way for Future Innovations
This feature is also a stepping stone for even more groundbreaking advancements on Focus. Here’s a glimpse at future possibilities:
- Live Audio Spaces: Host live discussions or artist Q&As where listeners can engage with their favorite creators/influencers and tip them in real time.
- Audio Podcasts in the Feed: Upload podcast episodes directly to your feed, cutting out the need for hosting platforms and instantly monetizing without the need for annoying sponsorship ad interruptions.
- Voice Commerce and Audio Ads: Creators can monetize with sponsored audio content, offering native promotions to their engaged audience.
- Collaborative Audio Projects: Musicians, podcasters, and creators can easily collaborate by responding with their own audio clips, fostering dynamic conversations.
Silence the Middlemen
The traditional social media landscape has been dominated by centralized platforms that extract significant fees from creators...that is until now. Creators can finally leverage crypto native features and keep more of what they earn while building stronger, direct relationships with their audience. By bypassing the middleman, creators can upload audio, monetize in real time, and engage with their community without interference. This is what decentralized social media is all about. True ownership, creative freedom, and financial empowerment.
You.mp3
The audio upload feature on Focus is more than just another new feature, it’s a cultural shift. Musicians, podcasters, thought leaders, and everyday users now have the opportunity to express themselves in a richer, more engaging format while monetizing their creativity. If you’re a creator, now is the time to experiment with audio uploads and experience firsthand how Focus is redefining social media. Whether you’re sharing exclusive music, starting conversations, or building an engaged community, the future of social is here. And it sounds incredible!
